just wanted to follow up on this.
dealership has my car, and turns out it was a pinched wire. they pulled it from where it was stuck and said it works fine, but they're also in the process of ordering in a new wiring harness for that section. they will replace it all when it comes in.
a funny aside, the guy was telling me on the phone "..and we'll go ahead and wash your car for you and..." and i almost jumped through the phone with "DONT WASH MY CAR!" hahahha. he kind of hesitated, and then said "ok sir" hahaha.
im pretty sure i startled him with that.
