Why don't you try the larger capacity radiator first, use as little anti-freeze as you feel comfortable with along with Redline or Motul additive and distilled water and see what that does to your oil temps?
Our Time Attack 335i only had an upgraded radiator only and no overheating issues. Then again we had a vented hood that may have helped a bit.
