Exactly.
So when you saw 142 mph(and still accelerating!), your car was(probably) pretty close to its 210(135 mph, true vehicle speed) vmax.
Btw... by German law a speedo can not report a slower vehicle speed, that is why all speedos are off some (+)percentages.
