100% agree!

Btw guys... Did you see my collection of oil filters ? I would only use BMW (dealer)bought filter or Mann and Mahle oil filter. There is a difference. Especially for those who choose to go with BMW's foolishly long oil changes.

The best oil is fresh oil!! There are so many sensors and plastic bits(chain guides and ramps), VANOS, etc... inside the engine that - I personally would not go with a long OCI.

See 02:40... all oil filters are NOT the same!

As for DIY or not... I am a DIY type of guy. I don't want anyone else near my car... and changing the oil is really easy once you have the right tools. And it won't cost you a fortune.

I really LOVE my Dimple oil drain plug. They were cheap($30ish) but it has a super strong magnet and it really picks up micro bits/shavings of metal floating in the oil. I highly recommend one.

Also this magnetic oil drain tool from Amazon... I first thought it was a bit gimmicky, but it saves your fingers from getting burnt as you loosen the oil drain bolt. Also highly recommend.
