Mine crapped out on the coldest day of the year only a mile from my house after a fairly long trip so I was VERY lucky.
Basically I got a warning light (yellow) and my fan was running full tilt and car went into limp mode.
I crawled home the mile or so and I was lucky it was about 9 degrees that day.
