a little contribution to this subject..not all oils from the same brand have the same composition...e.x castrol 5-30 and 5-40 has nothin to do with castrol 0-30 and 0-40..the latter is fully synhetic or perhaps its better to say true synthetic while the first 2 are semisynthetic..they both do the work ,but the 0's last shorter not because they are truly synthetics, the opposite, its just that the additives are different, they aim to circulate the oil sooner to the engine parts thus why are more commonly used in colder areas like Canada.
