~2 mpg is significant and I think we all strive to conserve resources but don't you agree that cranking a cold motor and shutting a turbocharged motor off immediately after running it hard is exactly the opposite of what automobile manufactuers have always told us is bad for an engine?
I know you can turn the feature off but shouldn't there be some sort of built in "safety"?
The bottom line is that both of these things can't be true:
1. Cold cranks shorten engine life and shutting down a hot turbocharged motor is harmful.
2. ASS is completely safe.
