Got the car back today so I'm happy.
Cost $1684 in the end, with the OEM pump being $900ish, thermostat just under $300 and labour $300ish plus the bolts and coolant.
Comes with a 2 year 24000km warranty.
Not the cheapest but the car runs and fingers crossed no more issues.
I looked up the prices of parts at Supercheap Auto and it was even more expensive, though I know there were cheaper alternatives.
I think $300ish for labour wasn't too bad, just the parts are expensive.
