I’d roll my eyes at this thread too...

...so please bear with me.

I’ve always hated the “help me decide” threads especially when they are competing brands posted on only one brands forum.

Well, here I am, a massive hypocrite.

I recently sold my perfect 135is to get a 997. Well after some exhausting research that’s not the way I’m going to go. I did the research before I sold the 135is but obviously intensified when it was “game time” and I was truly in the market.

I’m not the guy that thinks cars are investments but I love to find cars I’d love to own but will also depreciate at a very low rate (I did well on my 135, essentially breaking even).

Well now I’m looking at cars all the way from the mid teens to $50k range and in between. They are as follows and would love this groups, as unbiased as possible thoughts, knowing full well im in a 1M forum but expect a more educated group here than others.

-1M in the 40k mile range for a fair price and within current market (trying not to give away a car I’ve worked hard on negotiations and due diligence)
*pluses: it’s a 1M and I’ve wanted one for awhile
I know it works for my current life/family as it’s just like my 135is
Long term value, possible appreciation

*minuses:not the ultra new/different vibe since it’s so much like the car I sold
The most expensive (I’ll be financing)

-2004 Porsche C4S also mid 40k range and well priced (not certain on IMS)
*pluses: I love the C4S/AWD (I have a daily Volvo wagon but still nice in Utah)
Porsche itch is scratched
These seem to be holding value really well

*minuses: old interior is “eh”
IMS Aussie likely needs addressing

-2001 e46 M3 manual coupe 69k, all stock
*pluses: so much fun and a great motor
Very clean and low miles
Really well priced and cheapest of all
Long term value but don’t really know here

*minues: needs some small interior trim details addressed
Small body issue on pass quarter panel needs to be addressed
How does the body work neg impact value long term...
Such a great car but almost a let down to the above cars?

Quick note, apologies for the formatting. On my phone away from a laptop

So, even as I’m typing this I’m thinking “man, what a dumb thread...”.

Would love any thoughts though as this is truly a struggle for me.
