Well, today was the day to say goodbye to my faithful 1er.
It's on its way to the East Coast and into the hands of another enthusiast. I had an UNBELIEVABLE amount of interest in the car but no one came through for a couple months. I parted with a few items (headlights, blacklines) to try to sell it but came to terms with keeping it in the beginning of March.
I even contacted a local to buy some LCI tails and looked into getting some Euro halogens to mix things up. The local guy flaked and never replied back. I even posted a WTB ad for style 216s. But alas it wasn't meant to be and it's on the back of a truck now.
With all of the interest in the car and limited production numbers, I'm positive 128i's in similar spec will be quite desirable in 5-10 years. I'm still kicking myself for letting it go but it didn't make sense to keep. On a positive note, it will hopefully give me some bandwidth to chip away at my e36 build. It was a fantastic car and was with me during a great stretch of my life.
Bon voyage!
