Key thing to understand is that these cars were sold at a mark-up in our region, just like any other M power or AMG car, in comparison to the US. A buddy of mine picked up his car, similar spec but in Orange, brand new at the time for around $72k.. I paid approximately $58k for mine |
Thanks for sharing. The situation sounds quite similar to Japan. As the initial import was by a non-BMW importer the cars originally sold at a premium, but now have settled more or less into global market rates. Still, $58k for that mileage would seem you did quite well. Congrats!
One more question out of curiosity: do you know which country the car was originally manufactured for? Putting the VIN into the online tool will tell you if you don't know for sure.
