Spike, Mine has lasted a month. Know that is not long term. However if you download the instructions from 3m. The material has a big tensile and shear if fully cured. They also imply that some material thickness is needed. Did basically what op did except used no primer as i did not remove the existing material. Used bricks to hold top to window instead of tape.
