Performance winter tyres with an "H" speed rating and above don't have this problem (Dunlop 3D, Michelin Pilot Alpin, Pirelli Sottozero, Bridgestone LM, etc). This is really an issue with, for example, Bridgestone WS and Michelin X-Ice winter tyres.
