I understand now. What makes a good rivalry is balanced wins/loses with the rival. When it swings wildly to one side for an extended time, it does lose it's luster. And I'm saying this as a Michigan Wolverines hater.
It's a constant tug of war in my head. Part of me kind of want them to be successful, just so we can beat them every year. Part of me also love watching them lose to Appalachian State and having that to hang over them everytime you talk smack.
