This is probably why I had no problem on Jefferson with oil temps. I pulled it in for tire 'failure'. RFT overtemp/pressure and the weather was colder the begining of April.
Friday at the track on the main course -- the left-front-tire and the brakes gave up before the oil temp became a problem. The brakes were smoking; but not that hot, rotor temp was 570F after getting out with IR gun (but no cool down lap). Audi runs no fade about 700+ with HPS and the 911 is 800+ HT10 or PF97 (no fade). This is just annecdotal information, not scientifically collected; but for a serious weekend at the track, you will have more fun with some performance pads like Hawk HPS. I don't think you need anything more serious then that for starting out. But you need to keep a close eye on your left front tire, if you don't have a pyrometer, at least keep the pressure below 42psi.
