OP: I have found that flipping tires after every couple of events will make everything more consistent, and make tires last MUCH longer. When I say flip, I mean dismounting the tire, and flipping the inside to the outside. Then your passenger tire becomes your driver side tire, and vice-versa.
Rotating front to rear helps, but side to side does not really do anything, as your directional tire will be backwards (not a huge deal) but the outside edge is still the outside edge, and will continue to take the bulk of the abuse.

How can you find it HIGHLY unlikely without any evidence or actual experience running the tires? I'm not the only one saying this. And I've driven on 5 different track day tires in the last year. The Nexen's blew me away.
