It could be something as simple as an unbalanced tire but my guess is Steering Angle Sensor but it kinda sounds like what happens when the Dynamic Stability Control goes bad, "Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) is the nucleus of the chassis control systems in BMW vehicles. It ensures the highest possible levels of stability when driving, and it maximizes traction of all wheels when setting off or accelerating." so the vibration could be it trying to stabilize? Another thought is it could be the ECU? I would get my tires balanced and an alignment before moving forward.
