However, I've moved on since then. I'll do a write up soon but here's a pic of my latest DIY modified/hybrid lever that I think is perfect in the 1M.
Compared to the 130i lever the shift throw is slightly longer (it was always a little too short) but the knob sits 10-15mm lower (which I really wanted).
The method I used should enable you to create a bespoke (to you) shift feel on any BMW manual box.

As I was unfortunately expecting. Won't be able to use this as my trans is different and will likely be badly off center.
