The lenses are exactly the same, open the wrecked headlight first as tracer mentioned. It's really not that hard. it may seem intimidating but the trick is to use the proper tools. you also don't need to cut them open. I have a write up in the DIY section on what I found was the best way to open our headlights. its stickied at the top of the subforum. hope this helps!
