Unless I am missing something, the 135is hasn't become a cult car and doesn't have much of a following, both of which are needed for a limited edition car to take off in the resale market.

It’s a bit different in that the 135is was just a US-only, port-installed options package that’s pretty easily duplicated, if desired. Had BMW actually used a different suspension and added an LSD, the 135is would likely be more sought after.
