Well that was an utter failure so far. I removed the halogen fog light bulb, and wired up the LED lights with its transformer. I tested the light bulb before I inserted in the hole, and the light turned on fine.

I then tried inserting it into the hole, and got caught up on the sides of the wider led bulb in the hole (the halogen bulb is much thinner). Then after twirling/pressing/working it as hard as I could I happen to pick up the transformer to move it, and practically burned the top layer of finger off as it was like 500°C (exaggeration - but really friggin hot).

At that point I removed the LED and returned the halogen bulb.

Any thoughts here? Or do I have to attempt a return to China?

I was pretty sure I had the orientation of all the wires in the correct direction, and assumed they wouldn't illuminate if they were wrong, but could this instead cause a super hot transformer?

Thanks
