I just attempted this today, I used about 2 feet of exhaust wrap and some metal ties to clamp it on. To me there is almost no difference in sound, it is slightly deeper but almost unnoticed from inside the car. Not sure if I did not do something correctly but I plan to open it back up and try to get some more noise out of it.
