Installed the new LCI Blacklines last night. Old tails are still functioning very well, but rather grimed up. Amazed at how supple the new gaskets are.
Quick shot of the new tails with plastic on. That stayed on the lenses until they were fully bolted in.
Quick shot before getting started:
OK. Tools required:
Small trim tool
1/4 in drive ratchet and 8mm deep well socket.
Flat and #2 phillips screwdriver bits
Wet rag
Took out the trunk liner, this is what we see back there. There are two wiring harnesses to remove, one vertical in the middle, and one horizontal (smaller) up to the left. I removed both of those quickly with the flat head screwdriver.
There are 3 8mm nuts which have to be removed, and the tail will slide straight out the back end.
Get it cleaned up with a rag. Nasty.
And put the new one in! Reverse steps on the nuts and wiring.
Took maybe an hour. Have fun!
