As Dackelone has already mentioned this works on N55 MT's and the 1M (same box). The 130i arm I fitted was perfectly centred on the 1M - think I posted pic last year?

However, I've moved on since then. I'll do a write up soon but here's a pic of my latest DIY modified/hybrid lever that I think is perfect in the 1M.
Compared to the 130i lever the shift throw is slightly longer (it was always a little too short) but the knob sits 10-15mm lower (which I really wanted).

The method I used should enable you to create a bespoke (to you) shift feel on any BMW manual box.
