Actually, I am glad that that is a concern because it does not drone at all.
The video demonstrates the tone of the exhaust well - it shows that it is a loud raspy sound as opposed to a low bass carrying mono-tone. We actually amplified the waveform slightly in some shots to present the sound of the system better. The rolling shots were done with the windows down on a mountain road with low walls on either side.
The 3" design acts much like a large resonating chamber where the tone is able to mix well and cancel out these low tones. Of course the system still screams, but it is manageable. There is no low resonating bass tone, just a lot of BMW character - There are times when driving the car that it slightly reminds me of the E60 M5 with an exhaust...but of course then you hear a turbo spool that is audible even when your foot is off the accelerator
