I read what you read as well.
The writer overall prefer the "visceral" appeal of the 1M, and that's legit.
But, in the final analysis both automobiles seems fantastic.
Personal choice here as there seems to be no clear winner, other than the R3 for it's excellent all weather, real world abilities.
Too bad for Audi that it's not available in the US.
