Hi Arvinz, what you are doing sounds good but as you know you are getting star trail. To get just stars, you need faster exposure time. I typically set my aperture at F/2/8 and crank up my ISO to 3200 so my exposure time is fast, it's still around 2-4 secs depending on the ambient light, moon and clouds.
Experiment it and have fun.
