So guys, since part number 25110434217 is discontinued, what was the consensus on the BMS Short shifter (
http://burgertuning.com/short_shifte...5_335_535.html) for the 1M? Some of the posts above say it's "very similar" to the BMWP lever, but on the other hand some say that a 135i shifter will not fit on the 1M?
As I understand it, the BMWP lever itself can be used for both the N54 and N55 transmission, but the N54 will require the carrier. Does that mean the Burger motorsports lever linked above can be substituted also? Looking at the install pics, it seems that the BMS one has a nonstandard steel sleeve for the ball, and looks to lift the lever up, which is not the case with the BMWP lever...
If you are weighing in, please state if you know for sure (ie. installed one), or are just giving an educated guess.
