Just a follow up. I have since replaced my front control arms(wishbones?)/tension rods with the TRW parts from Oembimmerparts.com
Definitely a cheaper deal. Bushings are stiffer than stock and no issues with the install. The parts are virtual identical to the M3 parts.
They even had the M3 logo originally and someone mostly grinded it off.

e.g the wishbones were exactly the same as
except someone took a grinder to the M logo .

The tension rods did not have any M logo's.
However, I installed those first and immediately noticed better steering feedback.

Two weeks later I installed the wishbones which really screwed up my alignment like the M ones. After alignment, I am very happy with the parts and the effect they have had on the car.
