Yes there are steps in between, but really its not much of a difference IMO. I tried a slight bump in voltage but I think people are overthinking this. I ran the OEM bulbs for 13.8v for 3 months looking for problems. Found none. I'll continue to watch my new white bulbs, but they are completely fine still.
