IF the car has halogens the front headlights look like they have that white LED tube(s) but they do not! No LED light for the front headlights. And for the rear tail lamps - you also do NOT get LEDs. Just normal bulbs.

ONLY when you tick the xenon option box do you get that white LED brows and LED rear tail lights. The halogen cars tail lights look very simular to the LED tails - just that they have normal bulbs and not LED tubes.

I asked my parts guys and I have the part numbers for anyone who wants to upgrade their car to the LED look. IF your 1er is built before Sept/'09 you will also need a footwell module AND coding. For cars built after Sep/'09 you only need the new tail lights and one adaptor cable.

2012 M.Y. LED tail lights...

63217273427 left rear LED tail lamp - 116 euros
63217273428 right rear LED tail lamp - 116 euros
61122219698 adaptor cable - 28 euros

61359240534 footwell module 3 - 229 euros (only pre Sept/09 cars need this!)

all prices are WITHOUT the 19% German MwSt tax!

Dackel

Thanks Dackel. I don't think all of the dealers have updated their parts catalog to show these new LED tail lamps.

If anyone wants a current conversion rate:

63217273427 left rear LED tail lamp - $167.38
63217273428 right rear LED tail lamp - $167.38
61122219698 adaptor cable - $40.40

*61359240534 footwell module 3 - $330.42 (only pre Sept/09 cars need this!)

Without module ($375.16)
With module ($705.58)

Of course installation costs + labor is not included

I am assuming the module takes care of the coding issues (pre Sept/09) and the (post Sept/09) are all plug and play? Or will the dealer still have to code all the cars?
