My strategy for this on my 135i was to stretch a 225 onto the back wheels and put a slightly meatier 225 up front. It made the car a lot more fun to drive but frankly there is still way too much grip for the street. I think those sizes would be compatible with a 128i. Unless you're doing driving events don't bother with a bigger tire. All it does is give better thermal tolerance preventing the tires from going off too early. Grip is 99% down to the compound you choose. Not to mention 235 all around is too small for a car as heavy as a 128i if you were serious about the track. In general a car will handle worse with wider tires, it's just a compromise you have to live with as you increase power and weight.
