You need to code a new footwell module (not included in the xenon retrofit kit from BMW). The light control switch must also be bought separately. Xenon and Halogen control switch in the cabin are different. Read my thread at babybmw.
Basically, if you have footwell module 3 (FRM3)....you can code anything into it.
Some halogen 1 series already have FRM3 but mine didn't....so I had to buy a new one.
It doesn't matter which BMW you have...you can put OEM xenon headlights in anything. Good luck.
