It could be various faults, and you wont really know without a proper diagnostic tool.

I had the same symptoms as you under the same conditions, on my 135i running JB3 whilst on my second HPFP..

In my case, It wasn't the HPFP but the "Turbo pressure sensors" from running to much boost.
