Yes I love my shifting now! I suppose this generation of manual BMWs having a shifter carrier with 2 "arms" and 2 bushings helped fix some slop inherent in the older style, but I still think the rubber bushings are too soft. A new nylon cup and new selector rod joint (or at least the yellow foam bit inside) is also responsible for tightening things up, so I see it as a holistic approach - several little improvements that add up, including a weighted knob and new fluid/new mounts. The parts are pretty cheap too (not so much the knob).
