One more thought: the module could have gotten water on it?


This is apparently a semi-common thing. It's in the trunk on the passenger side, and if some very small/thin seals get old or crushed (because for example you had your rear bumper painted), water gets inside and fries the module.

This is what I suspect has happened to me. Had my rear bumper repainted in October, all was well until I went to pick the car up and now no comfort access. Had a couple of freak out episodes of the dash / instrument cluster and some codes complaining of no communication with the dash. Some google searches revealed very similar symptoms from others that had work done on the rear bumper.

Its been too cold for me to pull apart the trunk liner and check the module, but I fully expect to find it with water damage. Could be the cause for you as well.

EDIT: I meant to say it's the passive GO module more so than the comfort access - but either way check all the modules.
