For LeipzigWerk, I just sent them an email in English. They have tours in English and German. As long as they have a big enough group(at least six people), they only charge a few euros(~6) per person for the tour. IF they have to make a "special" tour for you, I think the charge was 130 euros. This seems to be the norm at many German car factories - for special tours.

I would just schedule an English tour on a regular date they hold them. Usually M-F either early in the morning or in the afternoon. The normal price is like eight euros I think, per person.
It also looks like they do special tours for small children up to the age of 14 yrs. This might be another option for you.

Leipzig is really a beautiful city. Very old school charm. I stayed at Motel-One.de for very little money ~59 pp. But there are also some big name hotels in the inner city as well.
The BMW factory is quick 12 minute drive from downtown.
