I still dont think they would sell as much as the M3. There is just such heritage behind that name. It still is BMW's crown jewel. I mean the 3er still massively outsell the 1 series. I mean its about 12% of 3 sales on average. There are plenty of people that still can't get past the looks of the 1 series. It could still apply with the M1. The M3 would still be more elegant and luxurious.
