As far as pricing for this M1, I see the base between 45-48K, and with options, coming in between 52-55K. The direct competitors to the M1 will be the TTRs/RS-3, Cayman/Boxter, and any other premium performance coupes/entry level sports cars. I hope I am wrong about the price, but I can't see BMW setting the base price too near the cost of a loaded 135i.
