I have a flash tune from "OE tuning". the tune gets me 380 hp. 370 tq.
Two weeks ago I picked up my car after getting wastegates replaced and the car was below a 1/4 tank and I decided to fill up at WAWA which is 92 octane. after driving the car about 3 days and maybe 60 miles the yellow engine light comes on. I take it back to the shop and he thinks it's the gas I used was too low octane after he read the code.
I bought a can of Royal purple Octane booster 16 ounce for $12. I put that in and filled it up with top tier gas. It took about 5 gallons. Since then no check engine lights.
So in my unusual case I believe the Octane booster helped.
The codes were misfires ... so I guess my mechanic was right.
