RE: water pump,
If you hear excessive/continuous loud fan noise, it's a typical symptom of bad water pump.
My N55 showed this and replaced water pump before it went out. Mechanic was able to check and confirm that the water pump was in bad condition.
My N54 however didn't show this symptom - maybe exhaust noise was too loud even though it was oem - and I had to tow.
