jclausen over on the 3 series engines spotted in my photo that my cylinder block bolt head was missing. Pelican parts has a pretty good writeup on it.
I've got some RTV sealant on that shallow depression until I get a replacement aluminum bolt, work the old one out, and install the new one. Crazy, right?
