It sounds like you may have covered this in your uncle's shop, but have you tried the BMW sunroof reset procedure to recalibrate the sunroof settings?
"Turn the car to the on position but don't start it. Press and hold the sunroof button as you would to tilt it. Hold it for about 30 seconds and the sunroof will start its reset procedure. Keep holding the button till it runs through its cycle and fully closes again. Done." (
