Shifter is in. Fairly straight forward job.
Inside car pull knob and boot.
Pull rubber seal around shifter.
I used the two screw drivers method to turn and release the bearing cup.
Get under car.
Remove aft cover.
Locate clips and slightly open them and slide them off.
Work the selector rod off. Pay attention to which way it goes.
I did both ends and cleaned and degreased everything. Then applied white lithium to the surfaces.
Get back in car and lube new cup bearing and shifter with grease. Don’t be sloppy attracts dirt and makes abrasive paste.
Slip in place and turn to lock.
Back under car.
Put the front joint back together first and ensure it is locked in place. Repeat with rear clip.
Put cover back on.
Back inside make sure it goes correctly into each gear.
Replace gasket and boot and shifter.
Results are nice. Shifts are smooth with a little more effort and a slight notchiness. The shifter sits higher (good the old one was too low) and it simply feels like a smaller throw higher effort OEM shifter.
Very nice and worth what fcpeuro charges for the performance shift lever.

Shifter in the 2nd gear position. measuring from my handbrake. About an 8cm throw. Of course distance is less across the gates as well (left to right).
1st gear position
Longer in both directions from the pivot.
