The new ECU in the 135i / 335i has a ECU access 'count'.

When the car is serviced they will probably do one of the following:

1) Access the ECU to apply an update - will wipe the 'superchip' remap

2) Check the ECU count if necessary which will show that it's been tampered with

I am not convinced that the Superchip is right option as it's fairly easy to detect.

The 'piggy back' versions such as procede look good, but are apparently quite bad for the car according to E90 post.

I hope someone brings out something similar to Superchip's BluFin that can remotely change the remap to and from before and after servicing... but it would need to delete the ECU access count.
