If you just want a link on the common header that is used across all model forums, that is dead simple. In fact, if you are on the bimmerpost.com root news site, there is already a direct link in the Forum navigation list for 1M.
The linked feedback thread from 2015 is a more involved ask which was to split off to a completely new top level forum like 1Mpost.com or similar. That was desired because people were tired of seeing mistake posts that were not about the 1M or about someone's M-sport 1 series. That is obviously more work and understandably disregarded, although you do have that distinction with 2addicts.com vs f87.bimmerpost.com for the M2.
