I've found the aftermarket silicone inlets don't fit well, they sit jammed up against the transmission/engine and firewall and theres a lot of sharp edges there that can rub and wear a fatter silicone inlet.

Have seen the earlier ones not really handle the heat too and seen cracking of the silcione where it had to be squished for install, and seen them rub holes through the inlets in around 18 months of daily driving.
