Oddly, this turned out to be related to the fact that the contacts for the right Xenon high beam bulb were corroded. The right high beam bulb wasn't working. I rarely use my high beams, so I had no idea. How a high beam bulb malfunction turns into a cornering light warning I do not know. However now that the contacts are clean and the right high beam is functioning properly, the right cornering light error is gone.
