Here's the history of my exhaust sound:
Stock - too quiet, can't hear anything.
Stock, muffler removed - decent sound, not too loud, a little too much gurgling, a little bit too "high school".
Headers, no muffler, only cats and resonator - idle's okay but everything else is bad...goes from harsh to unbearable; sounds like a track car, a loud one.
Headers, cats, resonator, and Borla muffler - perfect, elegant, sounds expensive, but never overbearing...love it. And still no CEL...great headers for under $1000. Next weekend the DISA goes on, then up to Eurowerke, an AA dealer, for a re-flash.

You got pics of that Borla installed? I'm thinking it will be the cheapest, best solution. I hate to lose my BMW PE, but I know it's going to be obnoxiously loud with headers fitted.
