Cheers problem nearly solved. New wheels have made a huge difference but there was still a bit of rubbing. So further investigation has revealed the 135i wheel arch guard edge is completely different than the 1M. As we simply cut off the old lip and used it as the new template I have retained that setup. However the 1M is basically rolled the entire gurad length starting from where the guard connects to the rear of the side skirt. On the 135i there is about 6" of lip that is about 15mm wide. This is where my car rubs on the fwd edge of the guard not the top. On a 1M this lip is no more than 5mm. So getting guards rolled I will report back soon.
